Did you know that William B. Travis has a community partner school?

Last year, the Travis PTA and North Dallas High School started working together to build a relationship between our neighborhood schools.  We had two very successful food and clothing drives; however, due to covid, our interactions were limited.

This year we are continuing to plan activities and events to promote a better sense of community, mutual support and interconnections between North Dallas High School and Travis TAG.

Some ideas for collaboration include gatherings at Cole Park, Band Collaborations, and Open Mic at Uptown to name a few.

We welcome your suggestions and please stay tuned as we plan (and re-plan) fun events and activities adhering to DISD and Dallas County’s Covid status.

Currently, students and families in our neighborhood are experiencing housing and food insecurity; some are recent hurricane evacuees and some continue to deal with the economic devastation from Covid.   We are inviting you to support NDHS and consider gifting one or more of the listed items below.

Please drop off your donation items at Travis in the "NDHS partnership box" located at the front entrance.

  • Food/Snacks: Microwavable ramen, grits, ravioli, macaroni and cheese, soup bowls, chicken and tuna packets/cans, trail mix, cheese and crackers, fruit cups, granola bars, bottled water

  • School Supplies: Backpacks, college ruled loose-leaf and notebooks, 4 pocket folders, 1.5 inch binders, pens, mechanical pencils

** If your child is a member of NJHS, the donation is an hour of service.  We plan to have more active volunteer opportunities with NDHS in the future. Please have a conversation with your child about the impact of this Food and Supply Drive and our neighborhood partnership.
